I began composing in middle school. Starting on My Singing Monster's Composing Studio, I began to explore the beauty of orchestration and the unification of unique voices. Eventually, I adapted to professional composing tools, beginning my journey as a film composer.
Throughout school, I participated in Concert Band, Marching Band, String Orchestra, Full Orchestra, Men's Choir, Mixed Choir, Theatre, and Musical Theatre.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
Art holds remarkable power. As I'm sure you can quote from your favorite film, with great power comes great responsibility.
With my music, I aim to have a purpose for every single note. I will never write a piece without drafting a basic plot first. This ensures that the composition doesn't drift astry as I get further into the piece; it also leads for a more intriguing and encapsulating product.
The same concept applies to film music. When writing a film score, I don't just compose cued sound effects. It's important to create a score that functions independently but parallel to its visual counterpart. Additionally, I aim to compose my cues cohesively; as a melody develops in the beginning cues, the same melody should continue until the end of the film. In other words, as the plot of the film matures, so should the score underneath.
